Have a Great Weekend. | Cup of Jo

What are you up to this weekend? My friends are hosting their annual holiday party, no kids allowed. I’m excited to pull on this velvet dress with sheer tights and drink something fizzy! Hope you have a good one — stay safe and cozy — and here are a few fun links from around the web…

I did an Ask Me Anything for Big Salad. Some of the questions were juicy!

Can you imagine overhearing this at a café?

This cardigan would be perfect for trips and watching holiday movies with the boys. (Bonus: Get 25% off the Airplane Collection with code TRAVELJO, good through Sunday.)

The viiiiiibes between Natalie Portman and Paul Mescal.

The #1 thing on my holiday wishlist for my house.

What a GORGEOUS studio apartment for a dad and his daughter.

Have you ever had puppy chow? The Midwestern snack is deeeeelicious. (NYTimes gift link)

Five tiny love stories. (NYTimes gift link)

Oooh, bow candle holders.

If you’re looking for stocking stuffers, may I recommend those mini cereal boxes that everyone fights over?

Also, Toby’s guide to family travel. “If your brother is crying at the end, you can carry his luggage. You can do that to help. But don’t go close to him in case he hits you. Take a step back.”

Busted, haha.

Plus, three reader comments:

Says Deirdre on going from one kid to two: “When I was pregnant with my second child, I made a photo book of my firstborn’s first year. It helped him imagine having a baby around, and he was obsessed with it. Once his brother was born, every time we celebrated a new milestone (like, first bath!), my older son, got excited, knowing that these were milestones that we had been just as excited about with him.”

Says Jessica on five disabled folks on how to welcome everyone during the holidays: “Physically disabled person here: Before a party, I love when the host asks me the question, ‘What can I do to make sure you have a 10/10 time?’ It’s a less ‘disability-focused’ way of asking how to be an excellent host, instead of having a person advocate for themselves.”

Says Amber on four fun things: “My kids are growing up in an interfaith (Jewish and Christian) family and we top our tree with a bagel.”
